Why Metis ?
The name Metis carries deep symbolic meaning. In Greek mythology, Metis was the goddess of wisdom, deep thought, and strategic counsel — celebrated for her intelligence, creativity, and foresight. She represents the ability to combine knowledge with intuition, and reflection with action — values that are at the heart of our work.
At Metis Insights, we chose this name because it embodies the kind of leadership and transformation we stand for: wise, ethical, and co-creative. Our approach is inspired by Metis’ legacy — weaving together analytical rigor and human understanding to guide complex processes of change.
The name also echoes the spirit of collective intelligence — the belief that solutions emerge when diverse perspectives come together in dialogue. Just as Metis symbolised the union of thought and action, our consultancy bridges research and practice, policy and lived experience, technology and justice.

Collaborations in the pipeline
Partnering with organizations to drive social justice and community empowerment:
Metis Agent AI – Developing a gender-transformative, ethical AI tool that supports NGOs, donors, UN agencies, and local civil society to collect, manage, and interpret data with care, transparency, and accountability.
Society of Gender Professionals (SGP) – Providing strategic and ethical advisory insight to the EU-funded InterVisions Project, which is designing a participatory bias-audit tool for multimodal AI systems grounded in feminist and decolonial frameworks.
At Metis Insights, we believe that knowledge gains power when it is shared. Our team members regularly contribute their expertise in-kind to partner organisations, strengthening networks of solidarity and extending the reach of our mission for justice, accountability, and ethical innovation.
In January 2025, Francesca Paola Traglia began serving in a Co-Leadership role with the Society of Gender Professionals (SGP) for a three-year mandate, supporting global feminist practitioners in advancing ethical, intersectional, and decolonial approaches across the gender and development field.
Since 2019, Francesca has also collaborated with Amnistía Internacional Tarragona, mobilising activists and leading human rights campaigns at the local level — a commitment that reflects Metis Insights’ belief in connecting global values with local action.
Through these and other partnerships, we continue to learn, exchange, and build collective capacity, ensuring that the principles we stand for are practiced, shared, and lived.
“The Invisible Architecture of Care”
Francesca Traglia – TEDx Talk
In this talk, Francesca reveals the invisible architecture of care: the feminist leadership, migrant women’s networks and everyday acts of solidarity that keep our societies standing when institutions fail
Through personal stories and years of work with migrant women, she shows that care is not “soft” or secondary—it is a radical force for resilience and change.
“If you think care is soft, let me tell you: it is the foundation on which everything else stands.”
